Inspired by true events, this is the heartwarming story of Moti, a gauti kutra, or Indian local dog, in the days before the Animal Birth Control program was introduced into India, and dogs were regularly and cruelly rounded up and culled in gas chambers.

Hounded and beaten, he is befriended by a young lady and a fellow street dog, who persuasively turns his fear of humans to an abiding trust and love for them.

Told as a first person account by Moti, this book awakens one to the world of dogs as they see them, and brings about the stark differences in the way human beings and animals perceive life, and yet the inevitable similarities and friendships that emerge among all things nature, humans included.

This book will make you smile often, and shed a tear now and then, and leave you looking for the magic lurking always within your own life. Though written for older children, it appeals to the child in every one.

All proceeds from the sale of this book go to the Welfare of Stray Dogs, a registered charity in Mumbai, doing exemplary and stellar work for the animal welfare movement in India and the street dogs of Mumbai in particular.
