In Book One, young Horace Mayberry an inexperienced somewhat dreamy, introvert Londoner and blind since his early teens, was fitted with bionic eyes by scientist Professor Freeman, using advanced nanotechnology. They are inherently intelligent, but controlled by his brain to develop new facilities as different stress conditions dictate. After extensive training, he was recruited into a secret government department and accompanied by an experienced extrovert agent, he embarked on a series of adventures, and unusual missions.
As his confidence and abilities grew, his dreams reflected the way his character and personality also developed. He learnt how to cope with all kinds of situations, including computer hacking, meeting a girl friend, and being abducted more than once by the members of a sinister international terrorist organisation after the secrets of the laboratory that developed the bionic eyes.
In this first sequel, Horace discovers that his nanotronic eyes can give him even more amazing abilities when he needs them, especially as five secret weapons developed by Professor Freeman in his laboratory, have been stolen, and he is the only agent with the ability to interact with them.
The action takes place all over Europe, but especially in Scotland, France and Austria where the terrorists have hideouts. It includes helicopter chases, a missile attack, bomb disposal techniques, using a drone, abductions, and several new uses of the nanophytes in Horace's new eyes.
In between the various missions to retrieve each weapon, his personality and the relationship with his girlfriend Janet further develop, His dreams become even more vivid and reflect his varied experiences in learning to be an efficient government secret agent.
He is accompanied in his new adventures by his mentor, Aubrey Jackson, with the help of a new member of the team, Harry Jenkins, who originally helped train him, plus the VPHQ ingenious technician Sergeant Daniels.

Like Nick and Nora Charles from "The Thin Man" series, Dick and Dora Zimmerman in "The Senior Sleuths" solve crimes, especially murders. Along with Zero the Bookie fashioned after the author's father) and a fascinating cast of other characters (such as Frankie Socks, fresh out of the Witness Protection Program), the Zimmermans, known as The Zimms, have the time, the money, the smarts and the chutzpah, to get involved in murder and mayhem, even when warned by police and criminals to stay away...or else!
In these modern noir stories, the hard-boiled detectives are soft-boiled sleuths whose inner shell is softer and gentler, although their outer shell is still tough. Of course, it doesn't matter, hard-boiled or soft-boiled, they can still be nearly beaten by the bad guys. But it is the puzzle of the mystery and putting the pieces together to solve it that matters.

Mindfulness and hedge fund management aren’t mutually exclusive…
Successful hedge fund manager, Joel Salomon weathered some of the toughest financial times in recent memory. He consistently generated positive returns, even in 2008, when the stock market dropped almost 40%. He achieved this remarkable record by applying mindful money management principles.
What does it mean to be mindful? It means being present in your investing decisions. It’s the opposite of the frenzied, fearful rush to trade that characterizes market crises. It’s an approach to financial planning that blends sound investment principles with a willingness to trust your gut. You’ll discover how to overcome adversity with gratitude and happiness and how to meet your financial goals without reacting to every market fluctuation.
How you react when you experience investment losses is essential to your financial success. Do you hover over a computer screen, alert for the slightest downturn in profits? Do you react with panic during market fluctuations and sell as soon as an investment’s value begins to dip?
Salomon uses his own experiences to demonstrate the powerful effect mindfulness has on prosperity.
You’ll discover
- why you should act as if your goals have been achieved,
- how to leverage intuition to make money,
- why happiness and gratitude are important to your financial plans.\
Mindful Money Management is a must read for anyone interested in making smart money decisions. Don’t let fear and stress drive your decision making. Let Salomon’s mindfulness techniques help you prosper. You will get many of the techniques Salomon teaches his clients in Mindful Money Management.
