A chance encounter between a secretive billionaire and a plus-size PR expert could be the perfect solution to both their problems - or a delicious scandal in the making - in New York Times best-selling author J. S. Scott's new British Billionaires series....
I am the type of woman who always plays it safe. In my professional life as a public relations "fixer", and in my personal life, especially when it comes to the opposite sex. Really, who needs the wild highs and the I-want-to-die-because-he-left-me lows of a relationship? At least, that's what I thought...until I met him.
Damian No-Last-Name-Given is sexy as sin, and I'd developed some kind of weird, instant attraction to him the moment he settled his chiseled body next to mine on a flight from London to Los Angeles. His sexy British accent did crazy things to my previously dormant female hormones, which had eventually led me to do the most impulsive thing I'd ever done in my entire life. I kissed him while everyone else in business class was sleeping. Or had he kissed me? All I knew was that we were both very willing participants, and that panty-melting embrace had rocked my entire world while it was happening.
Unfortunately, that moment of spontaneity would haunt me once I found out Mr. British Hottie's true identity. He'd held his last name back for a reason. Oh no, I couldn't make some once-in-a-lifetime misstep with an ordinary businessman. When I screwed up, it had to be one for the record books, and it had to happen with one of the most powerful men in the world. And, oh yeah, he also absolutely had to be the biggest man-whore on the planet.
Once I knew the truth, I could have easily convinced myself that the kiss wasn't all that earthshattering - if Damian Lancaster hadn't boldly swaggered into my office the very next day to apologize, and to make me a business offer I couldn’t possibly refuse....
Goodbye sanity; hello madness.
A historical novel about the relationship between Sigmund Freud and the 5 most important women in his life:
1. Martha Bernays, wife and mother to 6 children.
2. Minna Bernays, Martha´s sister, lover, and one of the components of the ménage à trois, together with her sister and Freud. This relationship has been lately confirmed with historical evidence and has been one of the best kept secrets in Freud´s life. Martha Bernays and her sister Minna lived together 40 years in Vienna with Freud’s six children, sharing the love of one of the scientists that made the greatest contribution to the change of sexual behaviors during the XX century.
3. Anna Freud. The daughter of Sigmund, a well-known children psychoanalyst, never married, underwent treatment with her own father, against the rules set by the founder of the movement, allegedly to heal her lesbianism, considered at that time to be a disease.
4. Lou Andrea Salome. The lover of Rainer Maria Rilke, a close friend of Frederic Nietzsche and confidant to Sigmund Freud was a muse who inspired men and helped Freud develop his theory of psychoanalysis.
5. Marie Bonaparte. A direct descendant of Napoleon and immensely rich, asked the help of Sigmund Freud to perform a psychoanalytic therapy to cure what she called "orgasmic abnormality". After the therapy failed, Marie Bonaparte underwent three surgical operations to move the clitoris closer to the vagina, with the purpose of achieving her vaginal orgasmic capacity. She became a well-known psychoanalyst and helped Freud to escape Vienna and the Nazi and to get him establish in London in 1938.
Sigmund Freud was one of the most important characters of the 20th Century. The development of psychoanalysis had a great impact on Western society. Authors Note: The Osprey Cove Lodge series is uniquely written, spanning seven geographic locations from the scenic Canadian region of the Rideau lakes to the beautiful shores of the Caribbean. An interesting web of mystery develops as the characters' lives intertwine. The setting for The Osprey Cove Lodge series was born from my love of the beauty of this region in Canada. The description of the lodge is so beautiful and inviting that you will want to pack your bags and head there.

When Rome transgresses upon his father's domain that lays between the Tigris and Euphrates rivers, Pacorus, a prince of the Parthian Empire, is sent to exact revenge. After a string of victories Pacorus and his men are captured in Cappadocia, clapped in chains and sent to Italy to live out the rest of their days as slaves. But fate intervenes and Pacorus and his companions are saved from a living hell by a renegade gladiator named Spartacus. In gratitude, Pacorus agrees to help Spartacus build his army as Rome musters its legions to crush the slave uprising. And so begins an epic adventure of glory and savagery played out across the length and breadth of Italy, as Spartacus defeats the armies of Rome and Pacorus leads his horsemen to victory after victory. But will Pacorous and the slave army escape from Italy, and will he win the love of the fierce and proud Gallia before the most powerful man in Rome, Marcus Licinius Crassus, takes the field against Spartacus?
A map of the Parthian Empire at the time of Pacorus (the 1st Century BC) can be found on the maps page of my website: www.peterdarman.com
"Darman has researched this novel extremely well, as one would expect with his military non-fiction background. This detail is meshed with great story telling which flows along with great gusto. Less for the fact that this book is about a Parthian rather than a Roman, I would describe it as a ‘Roman Sharpe’. Darman’s style is similar to and as good as Bernard Cornwell’s, one of my favourite authors."
