Learn from a trauma psychologist the wisdom of real people challenged with the task of overcoming severe adversity. Integrating their insights into a complete picture of the human experience Ernie L. Vecchio reveals a developmental understanding of how adversity becomes an opportunity for self-correction, growth, and healing. By acknowledging that the human ego is only one-third of a larger system, people learn not only what is observing their life, but why and where it is intending for them to go. The problem is we’re stuck in between life as it is and life as intended with whatever the ego considers interference. But there is good news, a unifying intelligence within everyone that wants nothing more than to liberate our fullest expression. Bringing continuity to how this unfolds, we learn there are ten absolute truths of being human.
The process begins with a logical and sensible path to emotional maturity – we are what happens first. All humans are spiritual beings born into a psychological world (first premise). You are human (second premise). Therefore, you are psychospiritual. In this context, giving station to what we are in the beginning means we no longer have to be at the mercy of a misguided ego. What follows is a reciprocal relationship with the self and all of life. More than reducing people to their strengths and weaknesses, Vecchio proposes that every human being is a hopeful expectation for the future. He reminds that the path forward has always been inward. Often called the road less traveled, he provides people with a pragmatic and reliable Map to Becoming.
He states, “Some have said that when the ego’s interference is removed, it is analogous to being able to see in the dark.” Offering people a clear understanding of ‘human angst’ he clarifies that we can learn to convert obstacles into motivational fuel. By giving station to our full navigational abilities, we become invigorated to live in the present moment. We become an inspiration for each other simply by the way we carry ourselves in the world. The meaningfulness of life returns when feelings and reason (a faculty of consciousness) are aligned. Often ignored, he proposes there is an evolving wisdom in our subjective experiences but we must have some form of an inner life to interpret them. Becoming a study of one, we develop a growing and dynamic perspective for the love of wisdom (i.e. philosophy), which brings this intelligence to the surface. What follows is a natural inclination to pay it forward. Having a clear understanding of the past and a deep appreciation for the present, we develop an optimistic view of the future. True authenticity is the simultaneous realization of hindsight, insight, and foresight, a form of vision that is proof-positive of a life lived awake.

It's a post-apocalyptic world now. Everyone the pandemic left behind is...special.
Survivors of the deadly pandemic possess diverse, savant-level talents, are intellectually gifted, or both. A handful of others possess even more impressive and mystifying qualities. Everyone has some form of psychological issue, ranging from minor anxiety disorders to full-blown psychopathy.
No technology, no medicine, no law and order. And there's more to surviving than just filling your belly...you have to dodge a few crazies along the way.
- Isaiah believes he is destined to rule the devastated world. Promise him loyalty and you live. Refuse and you die.
- Dani refused. Isaiah and his followers will not give up until they hunt her down. Her death will be intentionally slow, painful, and public -- an example to his followers.
- Pablo watched as the love of his life was murdered. He isolated himself in the Arizona desert, alone with his grief, until he was discovered by someone he may have to kill.
- Steven, a prepper in Kansas, was ready for this new world. Now, those who survived the pandemic, want everything he worked so hard for. Preppers must be ready to defend themselves. He knew that long before everyone else.
A year later they know now that not dying from the pandemic was the easy part.
The lives of these survivors from California to Texas...Arizona to Oklahoma, are all connected. And they don't know it.
Danger comes from unexpected and often shocking directions.
Now a year later, they navigate a bleak world. No technology, no medicine and no laws. They must unify their diverse strengths not only to rebuild civilization, but to battle those who would forge empires through brutality and oppression.
"There is one who would rule the world or see it burn."
Troop of Shadows combines Prepper fiction, pandemic survival and SHTF survival into a fast paced multi point of view saga. It has a Stephen King's "The Stand," kind of vibe along with part Hugh Howey's "Wool" series and part Markus Sakey's "Brilliance".
Intricately plotted, superbly paced, and brought to life by fully-developed protagonists, quirky supporting characters, and charming villains, the Troop of Shadows Chronicles is a tour de force. It is the unfolding story of the greatest threat humanity has ever faced, and is populated with some of the most entertaining, and deadly people you'll ever meet.
It's a page turner so don't read this in bed if you need to get much sleep.

What Doug finds in the secret compartment of his new red Corvette will forever change his life. It will also change Catherine’s. Doug and Catherine come from two different worlds. Catherine’s world is one of privilege and wealth. Doug grew up dirt poor and full of envy of others who had the things that he wanted but could not have. His goal was to one day have all the things he coveted. Their worlds collide when Catherine, VP of a large New York City marketing firm, hires Doug. As soon as Doug learns of Catherine’s wealth, he sees Catherine as his ticket to all the things he covets. After a whirlwind courtship, they are married.
Poor boy meets rich girl should have resulted in “happily ever after” — not exactly. Doug quickly learns he also covets independence. Events begin to unfold in each of their lives. For Doug, it is his mysterious discovery in the secret compartment of the Corvette. For Catherine, it is a business meeting with Alex Droxell at the Osprey Cove Lodge. When Catherine enters the beautiful and serene lodge, it’s as though she is entering another place and time. The lodge is an escape from the nightmare she is living back home. Follow the twists and turns of Book 1 of the Osprey Cove Lodge Series. Follow Doug and Catherine’s story to see if there is a “happily ever after” and with whom.
EXCERPT:
It appeared to Catherine as though she had just approached Mr. Darcy’s Pemberly in all its magnificence. Now she knew how Elizabeth felt at her first sighting of Pemberly. But unlike Elizabeth, Catherine thought, there would be no happy ending. This would not become her home one day, as Pemberly had become Elizabeth’s, and live happily ever after. Catherine did not covet the house that lay before her. In fact, Catherine was wealthy enough to buy a home like it, if she so desired. What Catherine did long for was what Pemberly represented to all Jane Austen lovers — the culmination of a beautiful love affair. Catherine was not naive enough to expect her life to be storybook in nature. But she did not expect her life with Doug to disintegrate into shambles just two years after marrying him. She did not understand why it was happening. She did not know how to fix it.
