But in the wake of her husband's betrayal, Blythe is forced to begin again. And it's her memories of Finn, the only man who ever weakened her knees, that call her across the Pacific Northwest in search of the next chapter in her life.

Scholar was a man with grand ambitions stifled by a mediocre, lonely existence. Quietly, he resented himself for every opportunity he let pass by while those around him found success and satisfaction in a bright and happy world. One day, he stepped outside and the world had ended; the sky was dark and the ground was covered in ash. The people who survived did not want to talk about what had happened. It was not a bomb, or a war, or anything man-made. But from what Scholar could gather, it wasn't natural either. It was something malicious, something monstrous. It tortured the world, then destroyed it. The book begins just over two years after this destruction. Scholar is searching for his place in the new world, as he failed to find his place in the old one.
Ashley Rhodes was a Wall Street womanizer trying to survive in darkness, subconsciously searching for vengeance for the brighter world he once knew.
Cattleprod was a charismatic human trafficker who sees the opportunity to set humanity on the right path.
The Turn is a dark story. There is no white knight, just complicated people in a complicated world, looking for their place, searching through the mysteries of humanity, and the mysteries of this new existence, seeking out or trying to forget the global atrocity that had vanished as mysteriously as it had come.
The story starts off dry as the world presents itself in nuanced ways to the wide-eyed adventure. There will also be moments where you might find yourself lost or confused. Do not be troubled by this. The focus of the story is on the characters, who too are wading through this new world as though through a dark forest. You will come to grasp this world as they do.

Finally! A male survivor speaks out about male childhood sexual abuse. Randy offers survivors and their families answers to their questions of why victims act out the way they do, and strategies to start living with greater purpose and happiness.
Unlike books based on academic theories and abstract philosophies, Randy Boyd talks candidly about what it takes for men, women and their families to heal from the pain of childhood sexual abuse. Randy tells his story in a way that the lay-person can absolutely relate to. He talks candidly about the effects of male sexual abuse such as low self-esteem, low self-worth, self-doubt, sexual problems, un-forgiveness, anger and rage. He talks about the direct correlation between sexual abuse and drug and alcohol addiction, as well as his drive to be successful in life at all cost as a way of proofing his worth as a man. With contributions from Jerry Moe, Dan Griffin, Dr. Allen Berger, John Lee and Dr. Mic Hunter, Healing the Man Within is a well balanced book between an autobiography and a self-help book
When Rome transgresses upon his father's domain that lays between the Tigris and Euphrates rivers, Pacorus, a prince of the Parthian Empire, is sent to exact revenge. After a string of victories Pacorus and his men are captured in Cappadocia, clapped in chains and sent to Italy to live out the rest of their days as slaves. But fate intervenes and Pacorus and his companions are saved from a living hell by a renegade gladiator named Spartacus. In gratitude, Pacorus agrees to help Spartacus build his army as Rome musters its legions to crush the slave uprising. And so begins an epic adventure of glory and savagery played out across the length and breadth of Italy, as Spartacus defeats the armies of Rome and Pacorus leads his horsemen to victory after victory. But will Pacorous and the slave army escape from Italy, and will he win the love of the fierce and proud Gallia before the most powerful man in Rome, Marcus Licinius Crassus, takes the field against Spartacus?
A map of the Parthian Empire at the time of Pacorus (the 1st Century BC) can be found on the maps page of my website: www.peterdarman.com
"Darman has researched this novel extremely well, as one would expect with his military non-fiction background. This detail is meshed with great story telling which flows along with great gusto. Less for the fact that this book is about a Parthian rather than a Roman, I would describe it as a ‘Roman Sharpe’. Darman’s style is similar to and as good as Bernard Cornwell’s, one of my favourite authors."
