A young, frightened man sends out a telepathic burst to the world, hoping that someone will receive his dire message. Shortly thereafter, the Premier of Zanix is murdered. Zanixese agent Surat is ordered to Pantoja’and to investigate. Under violent circumstances, he crosses paths with Kainaka - estranged daughter of a powerful crime lord; intelligence agent; magician. Together they start assembling the pieces of a puzzle of a diabolical plot spanning several centuries and distant worlds, yet to realise that more than just the fate of their nations rests upon their shoulders.
